Everyone's Told Me
05:08
|
|||
I can admit when I’m sitting in silence
Thoughts often burn in my head
Visions of the past, are projected
On a veil drifting over my head
Some can be beautiful, I watch them but I know
Despite all the pain
I can’t let them go
Growing older
It gets harder
There’s more to the story
Than what everyone’s told me
Eyes fixed forward, I got a direction
Forgetting all the things I can’t see
I try and I try, to check over my shoulder
But the ghosts, they sneak right up to me
Often we jump between repair and resent
Searching for meaning within
But don’t sit back now, it won’t happen quickly
Grab hold of the wheel and settle in
Growing older
It’s harder
There’s more to the story
Than what everyone’s told me

Searching
04:56
|
|||
Rain falls, outside my door
The skies look worried, but I feel secure
Howling winds, coming right though the floor
Could it be someone?
I’ve got to be sure
Mother nature fueling sadness
Father time tries turning us around
There’s a longing behind all the madness
We’re all searching until the day that we are found
Every move you make
Mending your mistakes
Takes time
But it all begins with where you draw the line
Escaping outside in the half light
To a shadowy cave that’ll never light my way
Disgraced, figures dance in our face
Until we realize the error in our ways
Mother nature fueling sadness
Father time tries to turn us around
There’s a longing behind all the madness
We’re all searching until we are found
When you’re all alone
Feeling that all hope has flown away
Then I look at how we hold on
To one another
I see how we find ourselves
Every move you make
Mending your mistakes
Takes time
But it all begins with where you draw the line

The Clock
03:44
|
|||
Out on the country roads you take
From the city lights, you can’t escape
Like a candle burns in the blackness
Of the abandoned house
Make my way home in one piece
But I’d rather stay out in the streets
Rather be tested than just put on the shelf
Those lessons of old are on their way out
The clock ticks away
Silence paralyzes me
The sound of the music keeps me alive
But the memories in chords are often unkind
Pressure bearing down on me
When I’m gone, they’ll all see
Pressure bearing down on me
When I’m gone, they’ll all see
It’s dark and the window stares back
A glimpse of the train as it glides down the tracks
Warmth in the wind, it’s that motion again
Get in and get out, I’ll be going now friend

I took a train to the future
Nothing to see in our past
But now that we’re here, it’s perfectly clear
Gotta find a way to get back
Listen to the sound
It’s a call left forgotten by people all around
Take a look in the mirror
Tell me, what do you see?
I’ve heard it before, “life’s such a bore”
“It’s not what I want it to be”
So tear the walls down around you
Don’t hide yourself from the light
Reap what we sow, as soon as you know
You’ll be arming yourselves for the fight
Listen to the sound
It’s a call left forgotten by people all around
It’s one you can’t ignore
When the weight of the world is right at your front door
Thoughts drag you down
With people all around
Thoughts drag you down
It’s one you can’t ignore
Listen to the sound
It’s a call left forgotten by people all around
It’s one you can’t ignore
When the weight of the world is right at your front door
